On a cold February evening, a group of gentle elderly ladies meet to knit and sew together. Their special guest for the evening is mail-order mystic, Madame Ocado, who attempts to contact the long-dead, and possibly murdered, relative who played on “The Halls” 100 years before. In an amazing transformation scene, Madame Ocado transports us back into the world of the Music Hall.
Miss Florence Rider is the victim of the malevolent Dastardly McScowl, who considers every which way to get rid of the queen of the Music Halls. With some songs and scenes and speeches, enjoy our trip down memory lane, and if you feel moved join in with the choruses.
Some of the acts you see this evening may well have played in Nottingham’s remaining Music Hall at The Malt Cross in St. James’s Street! Then again, maybe not….!
