• To audit provision and get a clear picture of what is happening within Study Support across the whole city.
• To raise the profile and standing of Secondary Study Support coordinators by providing them with training.
• To create an environment within which the sharing of good practice in Study Support can take place.
• To establish a foundation within schools using the Code of Practice that will ensure both sustainability and progression.
• To ensure that Study Support becomes recognised as a key priority by all Heads and is included in all schools EDPs by September 2005.
• To embed Study Support within the City's schools improvement programme particularly in relation to its key priorities relating to Key Stages 2&3.
• To determine the viability of a strategic bid for the next round of Children's Fund which is shortly going to be made available.
