Nottingham Youth Theatre (NYT) is the oldest established Youth Theatre in the City, at over 35 years old, and is based at the College Street Centre in Nottingham. The current company has evolved from a wide provision of Arts Education opportunities out of school/college for young people and adults.
Membership is open to young people between the ages of 13 and 19 and auditions are held regularly. We meet every week for workshop sessions and more often during production time.
The group produces a wide range of performance pieces including musical and music theatre, classic and modern plays, street theatre, adaptations and commissioned items. We also encourage our members to write their own original works and perform them with the company.

It's A Kind Of Magic
10 years ago, following the devastating loss of his beloved wife, the dark wizard Vladimor was vanquished whilst attempting to cast a sinister spell that would enslave the entire magical world. Now, after years of safety, putrid potions are brewing and whispers abound of his return. Meanwhile, a new year has started at Boarulcers School for Witchcraft and Wizardry and new students Mona Lott, Funald Wheezer & Barry Planter are eager to embark on their magical journey. But with the school in danger and the teachers incapacitated, can this trio of plucky First Years harness their new powers and save magic-kind?
