GovWifi allows staff and visitors in government organisations to connect and stay connected to a secure wifi service whilst they move from building to building.
You will need to sign-up to this service in order to use WiFi internet at College Street Centre.
For more information about GovWifi and setting up your account please ask a member of staff or at reception.
We have vending machines providing snacks, hot beverages and cold drinks at reasonable prices. There is also a water dispenser (free of charge).
We are able to provide refreshments for meetings and training sessions, with a range of packages to meet clients' needs.
Although the Centre has limited catering facilities, our rooms are suitable for small social events, if an outside caterer of the client's choice is used. We are happy to encourage this. Please get in touch for details.
We are not licensed for the sale of alcohol, but it may be consumed on the premises if agreed in advance with the Centre's management, providing the Licensing Authority's rules are met.
The Centre comprises of two adjacent Victorian buildings; the College Street Building and the Ropewalk Building; the buildings are linked by ramped access, which is well lit during hours of darkness. Rooms 1, 2 and the Studio Theatre are situated on the ground floor. Other hireable rooms are upstairs, so may not be suitable for some customers who have mobility issues.
Please note that the doorway into Room 2 measures 76cm (30"), so that room may not be accessible to larger mobility scooters or wheelchairs. We do have a loan wheelchair which will pass through the doorway; customers are welcome to borrow that during their time at the Centre.
In each of the buildings there is an accessible toilet (with baby changing facilities). Those toilets were fully refurbished to a high standard in December 2015.
If you need advice about accessibility please contact us.
Parking at College Street Centre is incredibly limited. We therefore recommend if travelling by car to use either the on street parking or parking at the nearby NCP carpark.
